TVU – Tra Vinh University marks another significant milestone in enhancing its training quality as three of its engineering programs officially achieve international accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) of the United States. The newly accredited programs are Construction Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology.
As of August 2025, this achievement brings TVU’s total number of internationally accredited programs to 27, covering standards from FIBAA (Europe), AUN-QA (Southeast Asia), and ABET (United States). This places Tra Vinh University in the group of universities in the Mekong Delta with a high number of internationally recognized programs and affirms the university’s continuous efforts in regional and global educational integration.
The university’s accredited programs are diverse. Eleven programs are accredited by FIBAA of Europe, covering fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Law, Accounting, Finance and Banking, and various master’s degrees in management. Another twelve programs meet the AUN-QA standards for the Southeast Asian region, spanning disciplines like Agriculture, Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and several languages and education programs. The ABET accreditation now covers four programs: Information Technology, which was previously recognized, and the three newly added engineering technology programs.
According to the announcement from ABET’s Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission, the accreditation for the three TVU programs is valid until 2031, after which they will be considered for re-accreditation. The evaluation report notes that the university’s training programs ensure strong learning outcomes, maintain close ties with industry demands, and show outstanding evidence of graduates being highly valued by employers and achieving good employment rates. The report also commends the active engagement of students in research, innovation, and creativity.
Continuously expanding its portfolio of internationally accredited programs helps Tra Vinh University solidify its position in Vietnam’s higher education system. This progress enhances its reputation as a high-quality institution, expands opportunities for academic cooperation and student-faculty exchanges with prestigious universities worldwide, and gives students a greater competitive advantage in the domestic and international labor markets.
With 27 internationally accredited programs, Tra Vinh University is now among the higher education institutions in Vietnam with a large number of programs recognized for international quality, affirming its vision for sustainable development and deep integration with regional and global education.
