TVU – On July 8, 2024, the TVU’s Party Committee organizes a Party Member Conference for the first six months of 2024 with the participation of more than 1,000 Party members in the Party Committee. Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Agencies and Enterprises of Tra Vinh province, attended and directed the conference.
The conference summarized results achieved in the work of the Party, science and technology, and international cooperation; reported the results of inspection and supervision in the first six months of 2024; and oriented the action program for the last six months of 2024.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Prof.Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the School Council said: “In the first six months of the year, the School achieved several encouraging results, in which some contents met and exceeded the targets set by the Resolution of the School Congress.
At the conference, Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh was pleased to announce that Tra Vinh University continued to increase its rank in 2024, ranked 42nd in the Top 100 WURI Ranking of schools with positive influence and contributions to society. In particular, in the ranking of 13 component index groups, the School was ranked first in the index group of culture and promotion of innovation and creativity – B5 (WURI Culture/Value), Top 10 in intellectual applications artificial – A7 (Generative AI Application), Top 15 in mobilizing investment in the field of education – B2 (Funding). The achievements were thanks to the continuous efforts of the school’s staff, lecturers, students, and workers.
The report for the first six months of 2024 showed that the Party Committee of Tra Vinh University achieved some outstanding results regarding organization and personnel work, student training and support, student employment, scientific research, and international cooperation.
Regarding party work, 37 new party members were admitted, 54 party members were officially transferred, 4 party committees were consolidated, and 2 new cells were established.

The conference received 10 presentations, of which 4 presentations were reported, including the following contents: The leadership role of the Party Committee of the section and proposed solutions to improve the quality of activities of the affiliated party cells; The Party’s leadership role in processing information on social networks and the Internet for officials and party members; The Party’s leadership role and providing solutions to improve enrollment at Tra Vinh University from 2024 onwards; The Party’s leadership role and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of scientific research and promote the application of research results into practice at Tra Vinh University.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and rector of Tra Vinh University, highly appreciated the presentation contents. He emphasized: “Regarding digital media, party members, especially students, must stay calm and be equipped with full knowledge when participating in social networks, ensuring a safe and healthy online environment.”
Regarding scientific research, the rector set the goal to publish more than 200 scientific articles, aiming to bring the University to participate in prestigious international rankings such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Times Higher Education (THE) in the next 5 years. He proposed a vision to make Tra Vinh University one of the five universities with Vietnam’s largest distance learning scale. The School also aimed to become one of the universities with the most intellectual property registered in the United States.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agencies and Enterprises of Tra Vinh province, acknowledged and praised the results achieved by the University’s Party Committee, at the same time, presented some guidelines: The situation in the province and the direction of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee need to be included in the conference; Implementing Central Resolution IV associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style within the Party Committee; Strengthen understanding of the situation according to Directive No. 24 of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee; Improve the quality of Party committee activities. Regarding professional tasks: Promote scientific research, especially by students, by the province’s development orientation, strengthen applied research and technology transfer, combine with promoting the province’s potential and participate in local socio-economic development, build a specific plan for Tra Vinh University to become the gateway to bring the province to the world, aiming for Tra Vinh University to become an advanced university.

Tra Vinh University set out 5 key tasks for the last six months of 2024:
(1) Direct the implementation of political targets and tasks in 2024; Strengthen inspection and supervision.
(2) Continue to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style; Implement Resolution 4 of the 12th Central Committee on Party Building.
(3) Strengthen political and ideological education; Thoroughly grasp the Party’s resolutions and directives and the State’s legal policies.
(4) Direct the activities of mass organizations, especially the Youth Union; prepare for the Youth Union Congress term 2024-2027.
(5) Review and arrange party organization; improve cell activity quality; Promote party members’ development.
