(TVU) – Currently, the more complicated Covid-19 pandemic has negatively influenced the life of local people, especially the poor in Tra Vinh province. The activity named “Millions of social welfare gifts” has been implemented by Tra Vinh University Youth Union in the academic year of 2021 – 2022.
In order to help the locals overcome difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic, staff and students of Tra Vinh University as well as sponsors have donated 15.250.000VND. Such a meaningful amount of money has been used for 61 social welfare gifts which include rice, cooking oil, eggs, dried fish, canned meat, vegetables. Each 250.000VND-gift is enough for people’s one-week spending.
On January 17, 2022, Tra Vinh University Youth Union has given 20 social welfare gifts to poor people due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Truong Long Hoa commune.

In addition, under the guidance of Tra Vinh University Youth Union, the Youth Unions of the School of Economics and Law, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of State Management and Office Administration coordinate with the Youth Unions in the province to give gifts to poor people due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, 41 social welfare gifts were given to the poor in Dai Phuoc commune (Cang Long district), Hiep My Dong commune (Cau Ngang district), Hiep Thanh commune (Cau Ngang district), and Hiep Thanh commune (Duyen Hai town).

In the near future, Tra Vinh University Youth Union will develop the activity of “Millions of social welfare gifts” to support poor people throughout Tra Vinh province.
