In the morning of October 11, 2011 TVU solemnly held the new school year ceremony 2011-2012 at Campus I. The ceremony welcomed many provincial leaders, teachers, heads of companies and units sponsored scholarships for TVU students. Also, Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, President of TVU Advisory Council, TVU Rector Board, staffs and over 2,500 students attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice Rector of TVU read the congratulation letter of President Truong Tan Sang sent teachers and students on the occasion of new school year. The letter helped teachers understand more about the important task of the education sector.
In the last school year, TVU has gained some results such as 31 researc h projects in which two of them were recognized as the provincial researches and one was published by an international journal. The infra structure, equipment for teaching, research and working is more concerned and most which has satisfied the need of training. The university has found different sponsors funding scholarship for students over three hundred million VND.
Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh solemnly read the opening speech for the new school year and he concurrently pointed the key tasks in the school year 2011-2012. On this occasion, Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh also wanted all the staff to study more to demand the training need.
Mrs. Son Thi Anh Hong, Deputy chairwoman, Tra Vinh People’s Committee gave a speech at the ceremony and she appreciated the achievements of TVU lecturers and students in the last school year. Concurrently, she also encouraged the staffs to maintain the accomplishments and to overcome the weakness to implement the tasks of the school year 2011-2012.
The ceremony also received the companionship of the sponsors who gave scholarships with the total value of 154,750,000 VND. On this occasion, TVU also awarded certificates of merit to many individuals with great contribution to the university development of TVU and students with high achievement in Student informatics Olympics 2011and two students with highest marks in the entrance of the school year 2011-2012.
On behalf of TVU Rector Board, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung acknowledged the opinions of the provincial leaders and promises to plan in details the suggested ideas ò the provincial leaders in the new school year in order to implement the mission and task of the university which contribute the educational development.
