Tra Vinh University hosts workshop on pain management and pharmacy career guidance

TVU – On November 1, the College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University partnered with Mega Lifesciences (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. to organize a specialized workshop titled “Pain Diseases, Pain Management Methods, and Career Guidance for Pharmacy Students,” attracting over 250 students from health sciences majors and expert participants. The workshop offers students the opportunity to gain practical knowledge from experts while fostering cooperative relationships between the university and enterprises to train high-quality human resources for the pharmaceutical industry.

Representatives from Mega Lifesciences (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. attending the workshop included Pharmacist Tran Phuoc Duy, Product Group Manager for Analgesics, Antipyretics, and Antihistamines; Ms. Ngo Thi Thu Hang, Marketing Director; Pharmacist Nguyen Thi Bao Quynh, Owner of Bao Quynh Pharmacy and Executive Committee Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Community Pharmacy Association; and Mr. Doan Khoi Nguyen, Human Resources Department Representative.

From Tra Vinh University, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University; Mr. Nguyen Phi Cong, Director of the Employment Services Center; MSc. Nguyen Bach Van, Deputy Head of the School of Pharmacy; MSc. Pham Nguyen Tuong Van, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmacy Management and Pharmaceutical Economics; MSc. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, Deputy Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, and representatives of leadership, lecturers, and academic advisors from the Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the event.

In the opening session, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, emphasized the importance of connecting training with professional practice, especially in the pharmaceutical field, where students need to master knowledge and equip themselves with professional skills that match current labor market demands.

  

 

The workshop program included three main topics. Mr. Doan Khoi Nguyen presented an introduction to Mega Lifesciences (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., providing information about the company’s operations, career opportunities, and human resource development policies. Pharmacist Tran Phuoc Duy shared insights on pain diseases and pain management, helping students better understand pain mechanisms, control methods, and the role of pharmacists in supporting patients. Pharmacist Nguyen Thi Bao Quynh presented on pharmacy operations, management, and the art of customer consulting, sharing practical experience in pharmacy management work and consulting and communication skills in pharmaceutical practice.

After the speakers’ presentations, students participating in the workshop actively asked questions related to professional expertise and career guidance.

In his closing remarks, MSc. Nguyen Bach Van, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, extended thanks to the speakers, teachers, and students who participated in the workshop. According to him, the event provides useful professional knowledge while expanding cooperation opportunities between Tra Vinh University and Mega Lifesciences (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in training and developing pharmaceutical human resources.

On this occasion, the organizing committee acknowledged these contributions and presented gifts to students who asked insightful and efficient questions.
