Tra Vinh University ranked 138th, up 43 places compared to the rankings in December 2021, continuing to enter the top 200 green universities with sustainable development, according to UI Greenmetric World University Rankings, announced by UI Greenmetric World University Rankings in December 2022.
To improve the training quality, Tra Vinh University focuses on investing in sustainable development, ensuring standards for green space, school governance, infrastructure, energy, climate change adaptation, and waste and water management,… The goal is to become a prestigious domestic and international application-oriented training and research institution. TVU also aims to build a multicultural environment to help students integrate with the working environment, and become a green and smart university.
This year, the system ranks 1050 universities from 85 countries. In Vietnam, there are 03 universities in the ranking: Ton Duc Thang University, Tra Vinh University, and Can Tho University. According to the UI Greenmetric World University Rankings, Tra Vinh University achieved the highest ranking in 02 areas: the transportation system (ranked 29th) and the educational and research capacity (ranked 136th). The rest areas ranked 180th and above.
TVU is the spearheaded university in the country to sign the Talloires Declaration in 2013, committing to building a comprehensive green university. This result is the recognition of the training capacity, as well as the efforts of the lecturers and students, gradually forming a green educational environment towards international integration. Building a green university in the heart of a green city contributes to bringing the image of a university in the Mekong Delta region to the world.
Many tourists visiting Tra Vinh province choose Tra Vinh University as one of the most attractive destinations. Preschools also bring children to experience cultivation at the School of Agriculture – Aquaculture and educate the children to form a sense of environmental protection.
Tra Vinh University campus is covered with green, fresh air, peace, and trees. Besides, the school has installed and operated an air quality monitoring system to assess the level of air quality. cleanliness of the air in the campus and Tra Vinh city area, especially with many practical programs and activities to protect and develop a sustainable environment, implemented with an effort towards a friendly, sustainable green environment.
