Tra Vinh University marks 95th Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union

TVU – On the evening of March 21, within the 2026 Youth Camp program, Tra Vinh University holds a ceremony to mark the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2026). The event also celebrates the 20th anniversary of Tra Vinh University and 25 years of the community college model.

The program draws the participation of Mr. Tran Tri Cuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long Province, Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union; Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, former Deputy Secretary of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee, former Chairman of the Advisory Council of Tra Vinh University; Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, former Chairman of the University Council, former Rector of Tra Vinh University, Chairman of the Strategic Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Tra Vinh University, along with members of the Board of Directors, the Youth Union Executive Committee, former Youth Union and Student Association officers, leaders of affiliated units, invited delegates, sponsors, and a large number of students.

At the ceremony, Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Youth Union and Secretary of the Youth Union of Tra Vinh University, reviews the 95-year history of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the 25-year development of Tra Vinh University. She expresses appreciation for generations of Vietnamese youth who dedicate their energy and youth to national independence and development, and acknowledges the contributions of former Youth Union and Student Association officers of the university over the past 25 years. She states that earlier generations open the first chapter with aspiration, while today’s youth of Tra Vinh University continue the journey with determination to innovate, grow, and create new values, contributing to the proud tradition of the Youth Union.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa recognizes and commends the achievements of Youth Union and Student Association staff and members. He encourages the youth of Tra Vinh University to maintain their energy, strengthen unity, take the lead in activities, balance academic study with volunteer work, social welfare programs, and startup initiatives.

The 2026 Youth Camp, themed “Tra Vinh University Youth – Proud of tradition, shaping the future,” takes place on a large scale with diverse and creative activities. These include the anniversary ceremony, a cosplay festival, a time capsule activity, a digital memory space, the “Chu Dong Tu” student market, the “Don ca tai tu” art program, folk games, and a music festival. The event attracts more than 6,000 students, featuring over 150 sub-camps, 14 student booths, the participation of 17 enterprises, and 20 booths from high schools.

The appearance and performances of singer Vinh Thuyen Kim, MC Monster, and DJ Suliver bring vibrant energy to the music night. During the camp, the Youth Union of Tra Vinh University admits 233 new members and submits a list of more than 100 outstanding members for Party consideration and development.

On this occasion, the Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union issues the decision to upgrade the Youth Union of Tra Vinh University to the Youth Union of Tra Vinh University. Tra Vinh University also honors 25 individuals with the title “Outstanding Youth Union and Student Association Officers 2025” and presents awards for the “Chu Dong Tu” market to student groups participating in the training round of the 4th Mekong Delta Student Startup Ideas Competition organized by the Vinh Long Business Incubator.
