The Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2022 of Tra Vinh University’s Union has 40 standing students in the front of Hoa Tan commune, Cau Ke district and Thanh Hoa Son commune, Cau Ngang district, and 105 non-standing students in 07 specialized squads.

To promote the role of volunteering, TVU students participate in socio-economic development programs and rural construction; the campaign creates an environment for students to practice life and social skills, strengthening solidarity, gathering youth, and consolidating and improving the quality of the Union. The activities contribute to the education of traditional and ethical lifestyles.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diệp Thanh Tùng, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, Commander of the Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign of Tra Vinh University in 2022, shared: The School-level campaign includes the “Exam season support” campaign and the “Green summer volunteering” campaign with the participation of 40 students in 02 fronts: Hoa Tan commune (Cau Ke district) and Thanh Hoa Son commune (Cau Ngang district), along with 105 non-permanent students participated in 07 specialized formations, including propaganda on drowning preventing and swimming teaching; repair electrical equipment and install lights; upgrading and repairing entertainment spots for children; training and transfer of science and technology; law popularization; propaganda and health care post-Covid-19, and English teaching lineups.
The campaign took place from July 9 to August 15 with the goals: of building at least 01 charity house; supporting 50 children in difficult circumstances; repairing at least 01 entertainment spot for children; supporting the program to light up country roads with solar lights (02km long); donate 10 bicycles to students with difficult circumstances; organize visits to give gifts to 40 policy families; mobilize youth to propose 100 ideas and initiatives on the creative idea portal of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; strive for at least 3,000 turns of youth to participate in volunteer activities; organize at least 01 activity to prevent and control drowning, accident, injury and child abuse; develop 100 new members; foster and develop at least 40 masses to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam,…
Mr. Trần Văn Triệu, Standing Deputy Secretary of TVU Union, said: After nearly 04 weeks of the campaign, 40 students and 105 non-standing students have carried out environmental sanitation for over 88km on rural roads, transporting 01 ton of materials for construction of works; planting over 1,000 new trees, organizing propaganda and distributing 500 leaflets on implementing a civilized urban lifestyle and preserving residential areas to 338 households.
In addition, TVU students organized summer activities and revisions for over 400 primary school students and gave 50 gifts to students. The students also supported the construction of a charity house for Mrs. Thạch Thị Thuône’s family, a poor household in Chong No 2 hamlet, commune, Hoa Tan; supported resources to repair 02 playgrounds for children in Chong No 3 hamlet and Hoi An hamlet, Hoa Tan commune, Cau Ke district; mobilized resources for giving gifts to policy families and scholarships to students; conducting the project “Lighting up the countryside” in Cau Ke, Cau Ngang, and Duyen Hai townships,… with a total value of over 210 million VND.
Student Thạch Thị Nhí, who participated in the war for the first time in Hoa Tan commune, Cau Ke district, shared: I am glad to be a part of the summer volunteer campaign together with friends to clear bushes, repair rural roads, repair amusement parks, organize activities and summer review classes for children,… to help them practice life and social skills, and strengthening the solidarity among the youth.
Mr. Trần Văn Triệu also expressed: Implementing the Youth Volunteer Campaign this summer, TVU Union also coordinated with the Youth Union of Ward 5, Tra Vinh City, to organize the launch of “Volunteer Saturday, Green Sunday” to carry out activities: cleaning roads in Ward 5, cleaning the campus, supporting environmental and preventing social evils propaganda,… with the participation of more than 513 students.
