TVU – On December 25, 2023, Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, welcomes and works with a delegation from the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and the Institute of Materials Science and Application, who come to exchange research orientations in chemistry and evaluate research projects at the University.
The delegation is led by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Duy, Head of the Research and Development Department, Radiation Technology Research and Development Center, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy from the Institute of Materials Science and Application.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Duy introduces research results in applied chemistry to the university’s lecturers, including research on the fabrication and application of nanomaterials, composites, polymers, agricultural products, radiation sterilization of medical supplies, food irradiation, fruit preservation, quarantine, and environmental treatment and protection applications.
Through the working session at the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Duy hopes that both sides can explore potential areas for cooperation and exchange to create chemistry-related products and supplies that bring economic and social values.
The same day, the delegation participates in the council for evaluation of a school-level research project “Study on the interaction of Mercaptopurine with gold clusters Aun (n = 2-10)” chaired by Master Duong Thi Huyen, a lecturer of Biochemistry, Tra Vinh University.
According to the council’s assessment, the project is implemented on schedule, meeting its research objectives. The project contributes to providing research materials and references in computational chemistry, laying the foundation for further research. The council rates the project as good.
