(TVU) – On October 5, 2024, the College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University hosts a welcome ceremony for new students of 2024. This annual event welcomes freshmen to the College family, beginning their learning journey in a meaningful and responsible field.
The welcome ceremony is attended by Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University (TVU); People’s Teacher Prof. Dr. Ta Van Tram, Rector of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy; Dr. Nguyen Doan Hoai, Vice-Rector; M.S. Dr. Doan Duong Chi Thien, Vice Dean; M.S. Dr. Tao Gia Phu, Vice-Rector; representatives from various TVU departments, leaders of faculties and departments within the College of Medicine and Pharmacy, academic advisors, and the new students of the 2024 cohort.
In his welcome speech, People’s Teacher Prof. Dr. Ta Van Tram, Rector of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy, congratulates the new students on their admission. He affirms that the College always strives to provide the best conditions for students to learn and train, creating an environment for creative study and work and fostering personal and professional growth. He hopes that the students will uphold the school’s fine traditions, actively pursue learning, enhance their medical knowledge and skills, and continuously cultivate the ethical qualities of future healthcare professionals.
The welcome ceremony features interactive activities and colorful performances, attracting enthusiastic participation from the new students. A highlight of the event is the “quiz with prizes” and the presentation of gifts to the top 9 entrants in various programs, including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health, Medical Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, and Medical Imaging Technology, aimed at encouraging and motivating students to continue developing their talents in their upcoming academic journey.
Nguyen Viet Hao, a freshman in the Medical program, expresses deep gratitude to high school teachers, family, and friends who have supported their pursuit of a medical career. “We will be the next generation of medical professionals. Let’s be proud of our choice and always keep the flame of passion and compassion in our hearts. Together, we will write beautiful stories in our journey to become responsible and humane healthcare workers,” Viet Hao shares.
On this occasion, the Youth Union of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy introduces its activities, student movements, and various clubs.

The College of Medicine and Pharmacy at Tra Vinh University not only carries the mission of training quality human resources but also plays a crucial role in community healthcare. It nurtures humanitarian values with a spirit of service, aiming to produce highly skilled, dedicated, and responsible healthcare professionals. Since its establishment, the two faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy and Dentistry have continuously innovated and excelled in their assigned tasks. Currently, the College comprises 1 office, 6 faculties (Medical Faculty with 17 departments, Pharmacy Faculty with 3 departments, Public Health Faculty with 4 departments, Medical Laboratory Technology Faculty with 2 departments, Nursing Faculty with 3 departments, and Dental Faculty with 7 departments), and 2 departments (Medical Imaging Technology Department and Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Department), with a total of 254 staff members. |
