(TVU) – On the morning of June 6, the School of Odonto-Stomatology, Tra Vinh University cooperated with the Mikuni Dental Team of Daishinkai Medical Group (Japan) to organize a dental care program for elementary students in Tra Vinh city.

According to the Plan No. 19/KH-UBND, dated March 8, 2021, of the Provincial People’s Committee on the implementation of the prevention of infectious diseases through dental care for primary students in Tra Vinh city in 2022, more than 2,000 students from the primary schools in the region receive dental care instruction.
Elementary students are examined and recorded for dental caries, gingivitis, and other abnormalities. In addition, TVU raises awareness about the importance of oral health for the community, thereby improving community health. At the same time, creating opportunities for students in the School of Odonto-Stomatology, Tra Vinh University to serve the community and replicate the models in other regions after graduation.

According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Deputy Head of the Department of Oral Pathology and Maxillofacial Surgery – School of Odonto-Stomatology, from June 6-10, the School of Odonto-Stomatology will coordinate to organize a dental care program for over 8,000 students of 17 primary schools in Tra Vinh city. Dr. Chau Thi Hoang Hoa, Deputy Head of International Cooperation – Project Promotion Department, Tra Vinh University shared: From now until the end of 2022, the project operates at the University’s campus in June, September, and December. In September and December, the project conducts oral care instruction for students with many helpful activities.
