TVU – Tra Vinh University shines at a ceremony held by the Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Education and Training on January 9, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2025). The event features the presentation of prestigious awards including “Outstanding Young Educator,” “Student with 5 Good Merits,” “Student with 3 Good Merits,” and “Student with 3 Good Training Criteria” at the provincial level for 2024.
Distinguished attendees include Ms. Bui Thi Ranh, Deputy Director of the Tra Vinh Department of Education and Training, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union. Representatives from local youth unions, Tra Vinh Medical College, Tra Vinh Vocational College, and various high schools are also present.
TVU’s delegation is led by Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Standing Member of the Party Committee and Vice Rector, alongside Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and President of the Student Association, accompanied by over 200 students.
TVU achieves remarkable success at the ceremony, with Mr. Do Anh Dat, Secretary of the Youth Union of the College of Economics and Law, receiving both provincial and national “Outstanding Young Educator” awards. Five TVU students earn the provincial “Student with 5 Good Merits” recognition: Vo Tan Phat (Information Technology), Huynh Phat Tai (Veterinary Medicine), Nguyen Thi Mong Ngan (Primary Education), Nguyen Minh Chanh (Veterinary Medicine), and Nguyen Khanh Bao Thuy Vy (Literature Education).
Notably, Nguyen Khanh Bao Thuy Vy stands out with dual honors, receiving both the “Student with 5 Good Merits” and the prestigious “January Star” awards from the Central Youth Union, marking her second consecutive year of national recognition.
In her address, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union emphasizes the enduring patriotic spirit of Vietnamese students and highlights the Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and civic engagement through various initiatives, including blood donation drives, summer volunteer campaigns, and high school exam support programs.
The ceremony concludes with the presentation of provincial awards to eight “Outstanding Young Educators,” nine recipients of “Student with 5 Good Merits,” 26 “Student with 3 Good Merits” awardees, and one student recognized for “Student with 3 Good Training Criteria.” Additionally, 11 students receive special recognition for their exceptional academic achievements and participation in Union and Association activities, along with winners of the Dance competition for students.
