A Training of trainers workshop on guiding for organizing experiential activities for Startup courses for lecturers and officials who do the task of supporting student startups took place on May 9 and 10, 2022, at Tra Vinh Business Incubator, Tra Vinh University.
The workshop, organized by Tra Vinh University within the framework of the Student Startup Supporting Network in the Mekong Delta region, attracted the participation of 30 lecturers and officials who do the task of supporting student startups at universities and colleges that are members of the Student Startup Supporting Network in the Mekong Delta region.
The training content included: experiential methods; steps to conduct a lecture; characteristics of learning and teaching methods; differentiating livelihood, entrepreneurship, and startup; specialties of business; brainstorming; groups of brainstorming; learning about idea screening tools and practicing idea screening through group activities; experiencing the ‘shirt exercise’; building the Business Model Canvas; and pitching techniques. The workshop was led by lecturers from Tra Vinh University, who are members of the Viet Nam Startup Mentors Alliance.
Trainees were able to experience practical exercises, learn how to complete the 9-Step Business Model Canvas, and accumulate useful knowledge in startup and teaching skills in startup courses as a result of the workshop.
“The training workshop provided me and other officials and lecturers working in startups at universities many practical experiences so that we can apply new training tools and experiential methods in the upcoming time,” said trainee Nong Thi My Duyen from Dong Thap Community College.
