On July 24, a delegation from Tra Vinh University visits and presents gifts to Green Summer volunteers participating in the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign at two sites in Tan An and Thanh Thoi communes, Vinh Long province.

The delegation includes Dr. Thach Thi Dan, vice rector of Tra Vinh University; Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Party Committee member, chief of the Party Committee Office, secretary of the Party Cell of the Party Committee Office – Office of the University Council; Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, standing member of the provincial Youth Union, deputy secretary of TVU Youth Union, president of the Student Association; and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, deputy secretary of TVU Youth Union, vice president of the TVU Student Association.

During the visit, Dr. Thach Thi Dan meets and presents gifts to the volunteers at the front lines of Tan An and Thanh Thoi communes. She highlights their volunteer spirit, sense of responsibility, and tireless efforts in overcoming challenges during the 2025 campaign. Her visit provides timely encouragement and motivation for the volunteers to continue their journey of “training, growing, and serving the community.”

In addition to supporting the volunteers, the delegation also visits and gives gifts to host families who act as “adoptive parents,” providing students with meals and accommodation throughout the campaign.

At Tan An commune, where 24 volunteers are stationed, key activities include operating a “zero-dong clothing booth,” constructing a bridge for the community, installing a street lighting system, cleaning the surroundings, and planting trees.

At Thanh Thoi commune, with 22 volunteers, the team coordinates with local authorities to carry out meaningful projects. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, secretary of Thanh Thoi commune, shares that the volunteers actively support demolishing temporary houses, transporting construction materials, participating in rural lighting projects, organizing English review classes, and setting up playgrounds for children at schools. Notably, the “exchange plastic bottles for trees” model spreads an environmental protection message.

The volunteers also participate in activities commemorating War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, such as lighting candles in gratitude, taking part in cultural exchanges, and supporting local projects to ensure quality and progress.

The 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign offers young people a chance to contribute to meaningful community work. It is also a valuable journey for each volunteer to develop themselves, grow in maturity, and nurture a spirit of healthy, beautiful, and purposeful living.
