(TVU) – The 10th Scholarship Awarding Ceremony of the Lighting Up Your Future (LUYF) Scholarship Fund, with the title “LUYF’s 10-year story: Connecting – Spreading – Lighting up the dreams”, was held on October 27, 2022, in Can Tho by Deloitte Vietnam and the Association of British Chartered Accountants in Vietnam (ACCA Vietnam).
2022 officially marked the Fund’s tenth year of operation. 200 scholarships worth nearly 5 billion VND have already been given to excellent students in the following regions: Hanoi (50), Mekong Delta (16), Central & Central Highlands (37), Ho Chi Minh City (91), and Northern Mountains (6). This is the final result of 2,222 hours spent on implementing the program, evaluating and selecting the best ones out of more than 1,222 applicants.
As a result, Tran Kim Duoc, a student in the Medical Laboratory class of 2020, and Ho Ha Lam, a student in the Business Administration class of 2020, are two outstanding Tra Vinh University students who received LUYF scholarships. Each scholarship is worth 28 million VND, which covers the cash scholarship as well as the cost of language study and soft skills training courses.
On behalf of the 16 Mekong Delta students receiving LUYF scholarships, Tran Kim Duoc shared, “I’m pleased to receive the scholarship, and I would like to express my gratitude to the Light Up the Future Scholarship Fund for making it possible for us to achieve such meaningful scholarships. This gives me and other students a lot of inspiration to succeed both in school and in life.”
With the desire to sow the seeds of kindness in every member of the LUYF network, the Fund hopes that each student can become an ambassador who may influence and motivate other students with difficult circumstances to strive for a better future.
LUYF is a scholarship fund co-founded by Deloitte Vietnam and ACCA Vietnam in 2012, with the mission of giving wings to a brighter future for thousands of students who are fighting against challenging circumstances to achieve many academic achievements and extra-curricular activities.
Throughout its 10-year journey of operation, the LUYF Scholarship Fund has made a positive impact on the community, providing development opportunities to hundreds of students who, despite living in challenging circumstances, are full of potential, including high academic standings, eagerness to learn, and the drive to climb above their circumstances to improve their lives.
