Vietnam and Cambodia to boost friendship, education, and training cooperation

(TVU) – On August 31, the delegation of the National Committee of Cambodia led by Ms. Chou Bun Eng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia has a working session with Tra Vinh University. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phạm Tiết Khánh – Chairman of TVU Council and Dr. Nguyễn Minh Hòa, Rector have welcomed the delegation.

At the meeting, Ms. Chou Bun Eng shared that Vietnam and Cambodia are neighbors with good traditional relations. In the past, the Vietnamese Army helped the Cambodian people escape the genocide of the Khmer Rouge, rebuild, and develop the country.

Over the years, Tra Vinh University has recruited students and supported scholarships, and dormitory accommodations for 126 Cambodian international students; there are 10 international students in the college system, and 116 in the university system. Accordingly, Cambodian students are majoring in Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, and Electronics.

At the meeting, Ms. Chou Bun Eng said that Tra Vinh University’s educational and training support activities have further tightened the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Cambodia needs the cooperation and support of Vietnam in general, and Tra Vinh in particular in the fields of education and training, health, culture, and sports. Soon, Tra Vinh University will continue to provide scholarships and training support for Cambodian students and international students. This high-quality human resource will help Cambodia develop the country’s economy.
