Vietnam-Laos education exhibition 2022

TVU – Tra Vinh University take part in events in Vientiane, Laos on September 29, 2022, including an education exhibition organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education & Training and the Ministry of Education & Sports of Laos, as well as a forum to discuss cooperation between the two countries in enhancing training quality.

This is an educational event organized during the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries. More than 40 Vietnamese higher education institutes and over 1,400 Vientiane 12th-grade students attended the event to explore study abroad programs in Vietnam. In addition, representatives of 17 Education and Training Departments and universities from Lao provinces participate in the event.

Mr. Nguyen Dong Khoi, Deputy Head of the International Admissions Department; Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Khanh, Head of the International Cooperation & Project Promotion Department; and teachers in charge of foreign enrollment took part in the exhibition and forum. Lao high school students, parents, and instructors were introduced to training programs, academic policies, and scholarship programs during the exhibition.

“During this trip, the delegation visited, discussed cooperation with the Department of Education and Sports of Vientiane, and consulted on admissions at Tanmixay High School, Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese Bilingual School, and Xaysettha High School, as well as providing scholarships for Lao international students at Tra Vinh University,” said Mr. Nguyen Dong Khoi. “In addition, the delegation discussed Tra Vinh University’s training programs, potentials, and strengths in each training field; policies on scholarships for international students; and educational cooperation opportunities between Tra Vinh University and educational institutions in Vientiane,” he added.

The leaders of Tra Vinh province assigned Tra Vinh University to serve as the province’s international entry point. The University has made more efforts in recent years to advance international ties and educational collaboration with partners from numerous nations in general, and Laos in particular.

Tra Vinh University has expanded international admission with 51 undergraduate programs, 27 master programs, and 10 doctoral programs. The University has always been looking for methods to enhance training quality and global integration through the international standard accreditation of training programs. With 13 programs that have attained international education quality accreditation from AUN-QA, FIBAA, ABET, including Agriculture, Aquaculture, Veterinary, Nursing, Khmer Language, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration (Master program), Economic Management (Master program), and Information Technology, Tra Vinh University currently holds the top spot in the Mekong Delta. Tra Vinh University also broadens training in diverse languages, including English, Khmer, French, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese to enable students to increase their access to foreign scholarships and employment prospects.
