Tra Vinh University has 2 training programs that meet international education quality standards according to AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance). These programs are Medical Laboratory Testing and Pharmacy, increasing the total number of accredited programs at the university to 15, adhering to international standards such as AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ABET.

According to a report from AUN-QA in August 2023, both the Medical Laboratory Testing and Pharmacy program are performing well against the AUN-QA standards, criteria, and requirements. This outcome reflects the ongoing efforts of Tra Vinh University to enhance the quality of education and improve the training ecosystem, scientific research, community services, and social responsibilities.

 

The additional success of these two programs contributes to the total number of internationally accredited programs at the university, which now stands at 15. Tra Vinh University ranks among the top universities in the Mekong Delta region with numerous programs recognized for their quality in international education by FIBAA, AUN-QA, and ABET. Among these programs, seven meet AUN-QA’s international education quality standards: Agriculture, Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine in the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture; Nursing, Medical Laboratory Testing, and Pharmacy in the Faculty of Medicine; and Khmer Language in the Faculty of Khmer Language, Culture, and Arts in the Southern region. Additionally, seven programs have been certified by FIBAA: Business Administration, Economics, Law, Accounting and Banking, Master of Business Administration, Master of Economic Management in the Faculty of Economics and Law; and the Information Technology program in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, which has recently received ABET accreditation. The university is currently working on expanding its international education quality accreditation to cover the remaining fields of study.

Recently, Tra Vinh University continues to rise in the WURI Ranking 2023, currently ranking 43rd in the Top 100. This ranking recognizes universities that positively impact society, marking a 19-spot improvement from the previous year. Furthermore, the university ranks 11th in the Top 50 for entrepreneurial spirit, 34th in student mobility and international exchange, 18th in openness, digital transformation, and integrated applications, 29th in crisis management, 49th in ethical values, and 45th in the application of science and technology.

For several consecutive years, Tra Vinh University has been listed in the Top 200 of sustainable and eco-friendly universities according to the UI GreenMetric Ranking. The university has implemented a quality management system since 2006, with ISO 9001-2000, ISO 9001-2008, and ISO 9001-2015 certifications.

AUN-QA (Asean University Network – Quality Assurance) sets standards with 11 criteria and 50 indicators. The overall score is the average of all criteria assessed on a scale of 1 to 7, where 1 signifies inadequate and needing immediate improvement, and 7 represents excellence on a global level. The overall program score is the average of all 50 indicators. A score of 4.0 is the threshold for meeting AUN-QA quality assurance standards.

These criteria cover eight key areas: (1) Expected learning outcomes; (2) Program structure and content; (3) Teaching and learning methods; (4) Student assessment and evaluation; (5) Quality of the faculty; (6) Student quality and support activities; (7) Infrastructure and facilities; and (8) Outcomes.
