The World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking 2020 has just announced that Tra Vinh University (TVU) is the only university in Vietnam ranked 86 in the Global Top 100 Innovative Universities.
The Organizing Committee of the Second Conference of the Hanseatic League of Universities has established and enhanced a university ranking system titled “World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI)” and evaluated the university’s real contributions to the society.
WURI highlights creative and innovative approaches to university research and education that focus on innovative categories:
Industrial applications, rather than the traditional ways of counting research papers and lecture-type teaching;
Entrepreneurial spirit and value-creating startups, rather than a traditional focus on the number of jobs filled;
Ethical value and social responsibility, ethics, and integrity, rather than a focus on knowledge and skills just for material success.
Student mobility and openness for exchange and collaboration between schools and across national borders, rather than an independent yet closed system.
In 2020, there are 265 schools in the world such as the United States, Canada, Australia, England, South Korea, the Netherlands, etc, to join WURI Ranking with one or more of these categories. Tra Vinh University ranks 86th/265 in the top 100 and 24th in the top 50 of the entrepreneurial spirit and value-creating startups.
