TVU – Last week, Dr. Nguyễn Minh Hòa, Rector of Tra Vinh University received and worked with Professor Harry Futselaar, Expert in Water Treatment Technology, Director of International Water Technology Program, University of Applied Sciences Saxion, Netherlands.

This activity is within the framework of cooperation between the two universities in the fields of environment, engineering and technology, circular economy and clean agriculture. During four working days at TVU (November 14 – November 18), the two sides exchanged and proposed implementation plans in the near future such as setting up the operation of the MEXplorer system, and direct working with a number of units in the field of technology and environment.

Dr. Nguyễn Minh Hòa expressed his gratitude to Professor Harry Futselaar for the business trip to Tra Vinh University. He also looked forward to continuing to implement the contents of cooperation in the future.

Professor Harry Futselaar worked directly with the university’s units including Center of Science Research, Services and Productions (CSP); Board of Directors of Tra Vinh Laboratory School; Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST). Plus, he had a meeting with the students of the IEST with the topic “Enterprises, schools and internship opportunities at home and abroad”; worked with Quê Mình Environmental Technology Co., Ltd (Dong Thap province) to sign a cooperation agreement in the field of environmental engineering.

Professor Harry Futselaar also introduced further information and training programs of Saxion University of Applied Sciences to students and instructed on how to develop the capacity of environmental engineering students with the motto of “insight – skills – attitude” along with the method to successfully complete projects in learning and research.

Phạm Kim Long, Director of IEST, said that this is an opportunity to access and provide useful information for students majoring in environmental engineering and natural resource and environmental management to connect with businesses and enhance job opportunities after graduation.

Mr. Lương Nguyễn Duy Thông, Chairman of Quê Mình Environmental Technology Co.,Ltd, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, hopes that TVU students can gain more experience from businesses to adapt to the working environment and soon start their entrepreneurial journey in the field of environmental engineering.
