TVU – The Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities School in South Central Coast and Mekong Delta was established based on the Department of Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities, the Department of Foreign Languages, and the Department of Education under Tra Vinh University.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of TVU, and Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of the Advisory Council, presented flowers to congratulate the Rector Board of the Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities School.
On March 7, Tra Vinh University announced the decision to establish and appoint the Rector Board of the Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities School under the Faculty of Khmer Language-Culture-Arts, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and the Faculty of Education.
Attending the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of TVU; Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of the TVU Advisory Council; former university leaders in various periods, and representatives of the leadership of units under Tra Vinh University.
The Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities School has the function of training university education levels, conducting scientific and technological activities, serving the community in the fields of Khmer language, culture, arts and humanities, and other related fields in accordance with the organization and operation regulations of Tra Vinh University and relevant laws.
The organizational structure of the School includes the Rector and Vice Rectors; the University’s Science and Training Council; other Advisory Councils; the University Office; Training Departments, Centers; equivalent units, and other units under the University.
Dr. Ngo So Phe was appointed as the Rector; Dr. Nguyen Thi Hue, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam, Ms. Lam Thi Bach Tuyet, and Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam were appointed as Vice Rectors. At the same time, the leadership staff of the university office, departments, and centers under TVU for the term 2021-2025 was appointed.
According to the Vietnamese Laws, the schools established by the University Council are not new universities but are similar to faculties, so they do not have the authority to grant degrees, but only perform the function of training management, and Tra Vinh University is still the degree-granting unit.
Therefore, regarding Tra Vinh University’s enrollment, it is basically still stable as every year and implemented according to the enrollment regulations.”
