On June 25th, 2012, Center of International Cooperation in Education and Training (Cicet) of Tra Vinh University (TVU) held a meeting with the topic “Cicet and learners- Bridging the knowledge gap” in order to get a close relationship between learners and the Center as well as to honor those with outstanding academic records.
The meeting was honored to welcome Ms. Thach Thi Dan- Vice Rector of TVU a long with representatives of offices, faculties and Centers of TVU; a representative of Tra Vinh newspaper and over 60 best learners.
In her opening speech, Vice Rector –Thach Thi Dan emphasized that during the learning process, especially the long-term foreign language program, it was certain that we would get many difficulties as well as challenges. In her opinion, with the dedication of TVU teaching staff, the support of many sponsors and their efforts, the learners will get best results in the learning process as well as the self- practicing.
Also, the meeting was held aiming at opening the English course for learners of future Master level and to deliver scholarships for learners with best scores in the last IELTS exam on the 9th of June. Mr. Nguyen Tien Thinh- a student of Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Ms. Tran Thi Huynh Anh- a student of Faculty of Economics, Law and Foreign Languages got the best results and received two full scholarships; each cost eight millions dong.
In addition, Cicet also gave eight full scholarships and eight half scholarships for other good students. Especially, it always helps needy students by giving scholarships for those who studying at the Center. For example, Cicet gave a scholarship of 500,000 dong for Ms. Trieu Thi To Hoa- a student of English major, course 2011.
Particularly, the meeting was more exciting with the musical items, game shows and solving riddles with gifts, etc. By the end of the meeting, Ms. Chau Thi Hoang Hoa- Director of Cicet expressed her gratitude to learners’ parents as well as the sponsors. Having the confidence of the parents and the support of the sponsors, Cicet will continue its training tasks to bring the most favorable studying opportunities for learners of Cicet as well as students of TVU.
