A delegation from Central Philippine University (CPU), led by University President Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, is set to embark on a journey to Tra Vinh University (TVU) in Vietnam from April 6 to April 14, 2024. The delegation comprises prominent figures from CPU’s academic community, including principals, faculty members, and administrative heads.

The delegation includes Prof. Janet Jaco, Principal of CPU Elementary School; Prof. Remedios Alog from the Elementary School faculty; Ms. Benjie Ne Gallinero, Principal of CPU Senior High School; Ma’am Ella Galve from the Senior High School faculty; Prof. Charlett Dianala, Principal of CPU Junior High School; Prof. Lilian Rose Jabao Asesor from the Junior High School faculty; Dr. Evelyn Grace Ayson, Acting Director of the University Research Center; Dr. Irving Domingo Rio, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, CPU President.

Their primary objective is to immerse themselves in the Vietnamese basic educational system, gaining firsthand experience and insights. They will have the opportunity to observe classes and even lead sessions, fostering a cross-cultural exchange of teaching methodologies and best practices.

Moreover, the CPU delegation will engage in two collaborative research projects with their counterparts from TVU. The first project focuses on “Problem Solving Approaches in Vietnamese Mathematics Classrooms,” while the second delves into “Excellent Mathematics Education in Vietnam.” This partnership aims to enhance both institutions’ understanding of effective teaching strategies and curriculum development.

Dr. Irving Domingo Rio will accompany the CPU team, facilitating the research endeavors and exploring further avenues of collaboration with TVU. Dr. Dagohoy, in his capacity as University President, will also be present to strengthen the bond between the two institutions. During the visit, he is scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with TVU, formalizing collaborative research on “Infusion of Black Chicken Genes into CPU Native Chicken,” showcasing the universities’ commitment to innovative agricultural research.

Additionally, Dr. Dagohoy will attend the Asian Research Network (ARN) meeting, where CPU holds a prominent position as one of the founding members. This gathering further solidifies CPU’s role in regional academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.

In anticipation of the forthcoming journey, Dr. Dagohoy expressed gratitude, stating, “This is indeed a blessing from God.” The CPU delegation’s visit to TVU promises not only academic enrichment but also the cultivation of lasting friendships and partnerships across borders, fostering a brighter future for both institutions and their respective communities.
