Cultural and educational exchange celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Tra Vinh – Canada cooperation relations

TVU – On the evening of November 23, Tra Vinh University, in coordination with Tra Vinh SME Project Management Board, organizes a cultural and educational exchange celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Tra Vinh – Canada cooperation relations in Campus 1, TVU.

Attending the event are H.E. Shawn Steil, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam; H.E. Brian Allemekinders, Development Counsellor, Co-Chair of Tra Vinh SME Project; Ms. Annie Dubé, Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, along with embassy and consulate staff.

From Tra Vinh province are Mr. Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Co-Chair of Tra Vinh SME Project; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Party Secretary, Chairman of Tra Vinh University Council, Chairman of Tra Vinh Vietnam – Canada Friendship Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector; leaders of departments, units under and affiliated to Tra Vinh University, members of the Executive Board, Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretariat, Executive Committee of the Student Association, representatives of grassroots chapters and over 500 participating students.

At the exchange night, in addition to introducing the development process of Tra Vinh University and its international cooperation relations, there are also art performances by Tra Vinh University students; games, and quizzes related to Canadian and Tra Vinh culture and education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of Tra Vinh University Council, Chairman of Vietnam – Canada Friendship Association, said: The Vietnam – Canada Community College Project, Tra Vinh Community College, now Tra Vinh University, has gradually affirmed its position, success and development.

This is the result of the successful 22-year cooperation between Tra Vinh and Canada in education and training, especially human resource training for the province and region. With effort and determination, Tra Vinh University has maintained and developed diverse training majors that meet the learning needs of the community and the human resource demands of society.

Together with projects sponsored by the Canadian government for Tra Vinh province, this is evidence of friendship, solidarity, and close ties between the people and the government of Canada towards Tra Vinh province.

At the meeting night, delegates enjoy art performances, and painting by Tra Vinh University students; and participate in quiz activities related to the culture and education of Tra Vinh and Canada. In particular, H.E. Shawn Steil, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam, brings an extremely attractive exchange, receiving cheers from the students.

Speaking at the ceremony, H.E. Shawn Steil, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam, congratulates the 50th anniversary of the friendship between Vietnam and Canada, and 22 years of friendship between Tra Vinh and Canada. He expresses his joy at receiving the warmest sentiments from delegates and participating students. He says: “Canada is very honored and proud to have contributed to the socio-economic and vocational education development of Tra Vinh and Tra Vinh University over the past time. I am very impressed with Tra Vinh province’s development pace, with many special points, rich and unique culture, beautiful green scenery, gentle and hospitable people, and dynamic businesses.” H.E. Shawn Steil hopes that Tra Vinh and Canada will cooperate at a higher strategic level in the future.

On this occasion, Tra Vinh University awards prizes for the video design contest celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Canada – Tra Vinh cooperation relations organized by Tra Vinh SME Project Management Board in coordination with the provincial Business Incubator. After nearly 03 months of launch, the Organizing Committee received nearly 60 contestants with impressive, unique and creative videos.

The results are: first prize for contestant Nguyen Thanh Hanh Nguyen, Communications Club; second prize for contestant Tran Quoc Huy, VICOSAP Cau Ke Coconut Processing Company Limited; third prize for contestant Thach Thi Ngoc Hieu, Law major class of 2023; and encouragement prize for contestant Nguyen Minh Duc, Communications Club.
