Based on the Admission and Training Regulations for Doctoral Degree, issued in conjunction with Circular No. 18/2021/TT-BGDĐT dated June 18, 2021, by the Minister of Education and Training; Tra Vinh University announces the admission for doctoral degree training, August 2023 session, as follows:

(*): The Cultural Studies field implements additional selection methods as per Decision No. 1667/QĐ-BGDĐT dated June 1, 2021, by the Ministry of Education and Training, regarding the issuance of a list of participating educational institutions and fields of study (June 2021 session) under Project 89 to enhance the capacity of university lecturers and managers to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training in the period 2019 – 2030.
- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates applying for the doctoral degree program must meet the following criteria:
2.1. Holds a master’s degree or an excellent undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Appendix 2).
2.2. Research experience, meeting one of the following conditions:
a) Master’s thesis in the research-oriented training program;
b) Author of 1 article or report related to the intended research area published in a scientific journal or conference proceedings with critique within a period of 3 years (36 months) from the application date;
c) Minimum 2 years (24 months) of work experience as a lecturer, or researcher in educational institutions, scientific organizations, or technology organizations.
2.3. Vietnamese citizens must meet foreign language proficiency requirements, evidenced by one of the following degrees or certificates:
a) Bachelor’s degree or higher by a foreign educational institution, a branch of a foreign educational institution in Vietnam, or a Vietnamese educational institution, awarded for full-time studies in a foreign language;
b) Bachelor’s degree in foreign language studies from Vietnamese educational institutions;
c) Having one of the foreign language certificates as stipulated, or equivalent to Level 4 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as announced by the Ministry of Education and Training (Appendix 1).
2.4. Foreign nationals must have a Vietnamese language certificate of at least Level 4 according to the Vietnamese language proficiency framework for foreigners and meet the second foreign language requirements as per the regulations of each training program.
2.5. Management experience and work seniority: Must meet the specific requirements of each admission field according to the regulations of Tra Vinh University.
- TRAINING METHOD AND DURATION
3.1. Training method: Full-time on-campus.
3.2. Training duration:
a) For candidates with a master’s degree: 3 years (36 months);
b) For candidates without a master’s degree: 4 years (48 months).
- APPLICATION DOCUMENTS AND REGISTRATION
4.1. Application documents include:
- Application form for admission;
- Academic curriculum vitae;
- Undergraduate diploma and transcript (6 certified copies);
- Master’s diploma and transcript (6 certified copies, if applicable);
- Language degree or certificate (6 certified copies);
- 6 copies of articles or reports related to the intended research area (if applicable), including cover page, table of contents, and the entire content of the scientific article;
- 6 research proposals: The proposal clearly presents the research topic or area, reasons for choosing the research area, research objectives, research methods, and desired outcomes. It should also outline the candidate’s experience, knowledge, understanding, and preparations for the entire course of study;
- Confirmation from the educational institution or scientific and technological organization regarding work experience if the candidate is a lecturer or researcher;
- Official letter of nomination from the direct management agency (if the candidate is a civil servant);
- 3 passport-sized photos (with full name, date of birth, and intended field of study on the back);
- Health examination certificate valid within 6 months from the application date.

4.2. Registration methods:
- Online: https://tuyensinhsdh.tvu.edu.vn
- In-person: at the Postgraduate Education Department or by post to Postgraduate Education Department (A11.101), Tra Vinh University. Candidates registering online must submit their application documents directly to the Postgraduate Education Department by the specified deadline.
- DOCUMENT SUBMISSION TIME, SELECTION, AND APPLICATION FEE
5.1. Document submission: From the date of announcement until August 11, 2023.
5.2. Selection: During August 2023.
5.3. Result announcement: Two weeks after the selection date.
5.4. Application fee: 3,000,000 VND/1 application. Candidates can pay the fee at the Financial Department, Tra Vinh University, or via bank transfer to the account of Tra Vinh University, account number: 7400211000777, at the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Trà Vinh Province. When making the payment, please indicate your full name, intended field of study, and working unit.
