In the morning of August 22, 2011, Dr. Chris van den Borne, Director of International Cooperation Saxion University- the Netherlands paid a visit and discussed opportunities for cooperation with TVU. Dr. Chris was welcomed by Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh – Rector of Tra Vinh University, Mr. Vo Hoang Khai, Mrs. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rectors and Heads of related Departments & Faculties.
The meeting focused on the cooperative activities such as: short term training programs and post-graduate training; student and staff exchange; 2+2 programs. According to Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, 03+01 training program is one of TVU’s concerns (03 years at TVU and 01 year at Saxion university and students will receive degree of Saxion university). Also, the participants discussed the possibility of the two universities to be involved into applying for funding projects.
In the afternoon, Mr. Chris continued to work with Tra Vinh Home Affairs Department and Tra Vinh University. The attendants were Mr. Bui Van Binh- Vice Director of Tra Vinh Home Affairs Departent, Mr. Tran Hoan Kim- Chairman of TVU Advisory Council, Former Chairman of Tra Vinh Province and a few Heads of related Departments and Faculties of TVU. The sides discussed about the opportunities for cooperation in the areas of training and science research in the coming years when Tra Vinh 100 project restarts.
