TVU – On June 8th, the Community Service Center of Tra Vinh University (TVU) holds a competition titled “Understanding Gender Issues in Choosing Majors and Career Guidance” for high school students from grades 10 and 11 at Tra Vinh Laboratory School. The competition attracts over 100 participants divided into 16 teams. Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, graced the event with her presence and delivered the opening remarks.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan emphasized the competition’s goal of equipping students with knowledge about gender and gender equality. This knowledge will empower them to develop a progressive and well-informed perspective when choosing their university majors and charting their future career paths. The competition also aimed to highlight the positive impact of gender equality on individuals, families, and society.
The competition consisted of two rounds: a quick response round and a public speaking round. A distinguished jury panel evaluated the participants. Ms. Le Đang Thuy Linh, Project Leader of Gender Equality Across Industries (GEAI), was the Jury’s head. Ms. Thach Thi Kim Anh, Vice Director of the Community Service Center, acted as the Deputy Head. The jury also included Tra Vinh University, Hong Bang International University, and Tra Vinh Laboratory School members.
Following the competition’s conclusion, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to deserving teams. The 1st Prize went to Team 14 (Nguyen Huy Bach, Truong Minh Hoang, and Đo Nguyen Bao Nhi). Teams 15, 10, 13, 2, 5, 3, and 12 also received recognition with prizes ranging from Second Prize to Encouragement Prizes.
