Tra Vinh University attends the V2WORK project summary conference and the annual meeting of the VEES-NET Network

From March 29 to 31, 2021, in Nha Trang, the project summary conference of V2WORK and the annual meeting of the VEES-NET network sponsored by the European Union takes place. Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Hoa – TVU Vice-Rector and the representative of Tra Vinh University attendee the V2WORK Project Summary Conference and the annual meeting of the VEES-NET network.

The conference has the attending from leaders of Departments, Authorities under the Ministry of Education and Training to leaders of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry VCCI, International Association of Students in Economics and Business AIESEC, leaders of Universities, Departments, Branches, Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Khanh Hoa Province and domestic and foreign enterprises.

The project started in October 2017 and started its first meeting in Portugal in March 2018. It has the participation of 8 Vietnamese universities, which Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Industrial University of Vinh, University of Technical and Education – The University of Da Nang, Tay Nguyen University, Nha Trang University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Dau Mot University and Tra Vinh University. And the companionship of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry VCCI, the International Association of Students in Economics and Business AIESEC, and 03 partner universities in  Europe includes the University of Alicante – Spain, Coimbra University – Portugal, and Joannelim University – Austria.

The goal of the project is to improve job search opportunities and entrepreneurship skills for Vietnamese students, and at the same time to expand the network with participating Vietnamese and international universities.

After more than three years, Tra Vinh University has always been a pioneer, proactive, and actively implementing activities that contribute to the success of the V2WORK project. Activities, which contribute to improving professional skills, training courses, and many seminars, conferences, and replication training activities of members, take place with many different topics like career guidance, jobs, labor market, or start-up. Members also actively participate in the project and help students access recruitment businesses through the job fair.

At the same time, Tra Vinh University also conducts training courses on career counseling, employment, and entrepreneurship for lecturers to improve professional skills for teaching and bring entrepreneurship into main courses teaching at TVU.

The success of the V2WORK project is a solid stepping stone for the formation of the VEES-NET network in October 2020 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The VEES-NET network is established and launched by Tra Vinh University and the remaining 07 member universities.

Tra Vinh University is a member of the Board of Directors for the first term 2020-2023. Besides improving job opportunities and promoting entrepreneurship for students, TVU also performs the task of connecting universities, colleges in the Mekong Delta region, and colleges in the Vietnam Community College Association to participate in the network in the coming time.

At the annual meeting of the VEES-NET, members agree to work plans for the next three years. (1) Develop programs and organizing training courses on job-hunting skills and start-up for students through the online mode. (2) Deploy electronic job transaction floors for network members. (3) Enroll new members to join the network. (4) Coordinate the implementation of programs, events, conferences, seminars, and job fairs to help students improve job opportunities and promote entrepreneurship.

With the above tasks, Tra Vinh University pioneers in organizing student work week in two forms of online and directly in June 2021, at the same time as the 15th anniversary of Tra Vinh University and 20 years of Community College model.

The V2WORK project (Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to improve graduated student’s employability and entrepreneurship skills) is the project aimed to strengthen the Vietnamese education system to support job-seeking and entrepreneurship skills of graduates in the frame of the Erasmus+  project financed by the European Commission.
