TVU is the first university in Vietnam signing the Talloires Declaration (2013) to commit to build a comprehensive green university. In 2019, TVU was ranked 221st in the top 300 most sustainable and eco-friendly universities in the world.

Diversified programs and strong ties with enterprises

TVU is a public university and enrolls students internationally. The university offers 33 graduate programs and 62 undergraduate ones as well as other tailored training programs in various fields including Agriculture – Fisheries, Engineering – Technology, Health Sciences, Foreign Languages, Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts, Economics – Law, Applied Chemistry, Pedagogics, State Management – Office Administration & Tourism, Political Theory, Foundation Science, Odonto-Stomatology, Pre-university, and etc.

With the motto of “Bringing quality learning opportunities to the community”, TVU is operating under a community university model. This university is as a founding member of the Vietnam Community College Association (VACC), and its Rector is the current Chairman of VACC.

This university’s every training program has the participation of businesses as academic advisors to make sure that the students can meet their job requirements after graduation.

In addition, TVU has made efforts to engage more than 700 enterprises in its training affairs including expanding Co-op training program – a specific training model of TVU. This model has helped students get real working experience, expand studying opportunities and save learning costs. Besides, it has helped businesses reduce training costs and time after recruiting. Moreover, it also supports annual scholarships and contributes to employment opportunity increase for students after graduation.

Always improving quality towards international integration

TVU is accredited based on international quality standards including FIBBA and AUN-QA.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector said: “Along with successfully achieving the national quality accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Training according to the new set of criteria (25 standards & 111 criteria) in 2019, TVU has six training programs meeting FIBBA & AUN-QA international quality accreditation standards in terms of accounting, business management, economics, finance – banking, fisheries, and veterinary. These achievements are considered as important steps on its roadmap for international integration of education quality. In the coming time, the university is going to carry out ABET accreditation for engineering and technology sectors and remaining ones.”

It is known that TVU always strives to cooperate with more than 90 international partners in training and research cooperation, project development, student and lecturer exchange as well as receiving volunteers. TVU promotes many projects related to short-term and long-term scholarships for its lecturers and students, green university development, and developing research student group- IEEE Student Chapter at TVU.

Currently, TVU is a member of CDIO which promotes the educational framework to improve the training quality for technical universities worldwide. In addition, TVU is also the 151st member of the Canadian Community College Association, now called Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan).

Many special policies for students

The university offers a variety of tuition-free training programs and an extended scholarship policy for female students studying engineering. In addition to giving annual scholarships, the university together with national and international sponsors awarded hundreds of scholarships (more than one billion VND) to its students. In particular, the university supports 20 million VND for each research project or startup initiative conducted by students.
