TVU teachers and students learn to write, manage patents and intellectual property

(TVU) – On December 6 and 7, at Tra Vinh University, the training program on Intellectual property management – Cozula with the theme: ‘Guide to patent writing techniques and patent management’ is organized by the coordination between Tra Vinh University and Center for Science and Technology Application and Services (STAS) of the Agency for Southern Affairs (Ministry of Science and Technology).

Topics presented by experts from the Center for Science and Technology Application and Services of the Agency for Southern Affairs (Ministry of Science and Technology) includes the importance of patent management and registration in the innovation stage; Intellectual products, intellectual property rights, intellectual property, and intangible assets of an organization; guide to search patent information for searching new ideas, business opportunities and writing techniques for patent protection.

Thereby, many questions are clarified such as how to write a complete patent to be applied and recognized, when a business starts with scientific and creative products, what the authors need to do to protect the group’s patent rights, how different between useful solutions and patents, why we use patent information, where patent information is obtained, what the purpose of granting a patent is.

Nguyen Phuong Khanh, a student in Applied Chemistry, shared ‘The training session provides much important information about patents and patent rights. In recent years, my friends and I have been doing scientific researches creating research products with community applications such as the project on plastic bottles from shrimp shells, pesticides from pond apple seeds-“Hạt Bình Bát” and some other intellectual products by students. Thanks to this training, we know how to complete the documents to apply for patent recognition and intellectual property rights.’
