Announcement for abstract, presentation, and registration
Tra Vinh University (TVU), formerly Tra Vinh Community College, was established under the framework of the Vietnam-Canada Community College Project funded by CIDA (now Global Affairs Canada). This is now considered one of the most successful community college models in Vietnam. The Vietnam Association Community College (VACC) was formed in 2006 with the membership of community colleges in Vietnam. TVU and VACC have maintained strong partnerships with Canadian partners involved with the project. In addition, more partnerships with Canadian institutions have been developed since 2006 after the completion of the initial project.
In 2023, on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada, in order to mark the success of the Canadian community college model in Vietnam, and to strengthen partnerships between institutions in Canada and VACC members, as well as with Vietnamese Higher Education Institutions in the Mekong Delta, Tra Vinh University (TVU) is honored to host the conference on “Developing sustainable partnerships between Canada and Vietnam in Education and Vocational Training.” The event will be co-sponsored and co-hosted by the British Columbia Council of International Education (BCCIE), Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), and Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC). The conference will have plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, networking opportunities (including B2B meetings), and exhibitions.
We would like to invite all colleagues from BC, Canadian and Vietnamese institutions, colleges, and universities to participate in this conference and to submit abstracts or posters that relate to the following topics:
– Digital transformation in teaching and learning
– Student Mobility and Recruitment
– Sustainable International Partnerships
– UN Sustainable Development Goals in Higher Education Institutions
– Partnership development in technical and vocational training
