Working with the Delegation from the Department of Health, Tbong Khmum Province, Kingdom of Cambodia

(TVU) – On November 2, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Thach Thi Dan – Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, and representatives of heads and deputy heads of affiliated units welcomed and worked with a working delegation from the Department of Health of Tbong Khmum Province, Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Mr. Keo Vannak, Director of the Department of Health.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan – Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University welcomed the delegation on their visit and work at the university. The Vice Rector said that recently, Tra Vinh University has expanded cooperation with partners in the Kingdom of Cambodia in many fields, especially in health and education.

The Vice-Rector said that currently, Tra Vinh University has nearly 100 Cambodian students pursuing studies in majors of health, engineering, agriculture – aquaculture, economics, etc. Through this visit, opportunities open up to exchange training needs in occupations for students in Cambodia in general and in Tbong Khmum province in particular. With the potential and advantages of both sides, it promises to open up many opportunities for future development cooperation.

Mr. Keo Vannak, Director of the Department of Health of Tbong Khmum Province introduced the socio-economy of Tbong Khmum province. He said that Tbong Khmum is still a province with many difficulties, especially in the health sector. The infrastructure at hospitals as specialized human resources for medical examination and treatment to serve the people is lacking. He hopes that through this working session, Tra Vinh University will support the Department of Health of Tbong Khmum Province in human resource training, improving professional skills and expertise to serve the provincial health sector. On the side of Tbong Khmum province, it will support Tra Vinh University in enrollment counseling, introducing careers for students in the province to study at Tra Vinh University.

At the meeting, Tra Vinh University granted 05 scholarships for students from Tbong Khmum province to study at the university. The school develops policies and cooperation programs with Tbong Khmum province according to the needs of both sides.
