The wrap-up of the Immersion Program of TVU Master of Arts in Education students at Southern Leyte State University, Philippines

(TVU) – On March 22, 2024, the delegation including a group of graduate students in Education Management led by Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of International Education Institute – Tra Vinh University (TVU), Vietnam was honored to attend a wrap-up meeting of the Immersion Program at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Philippines.

At the meeting, there was the attendance of Dr. Jude A. Duarte – SLSU President, Dr. Constantino Medilo – Vice President, and representatives from various departments and units of SLSU, SLSU – Tomas Oppus.

At the meeting, Dr. Jude A. Duarte – President of SLSU, expressed his appreciation of the program’s success and students’ enthusiasm for various cultural and academic activities. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of the cultural exchange program among students and faculties of SLSU and TVU in promoting the international integration of both universities in particular and two countries in general.

During the program, students had a valuable chance to visit and have class observations at preschools and secondary schools in Sogod, Southern Leyte province, including Sogod Central School, Sogod National High School, and Diverse Minds Montessori School. This is considered a remarkable contribution to students’ knowledge development in school management. Furthermore, they engaged in a provincial research conference and an education forum organized by SLSU. These events provided students with a great opportunity to share their best research practices.

Specifically, on March 21, 2024, the delegation participated in a research conference entitled “ARAL Colloquium and Sharing of Best Research Practices” with the theme “Bridging Research, Innovation, and Action: Pathways for a Future-Proof Quality Education.” Through the colloquium, students gained valuable experiences in scientific research as well as promoting the network with international peers.

The Education Forum with the theme “Cutting-edged Approaches in Navigating the Demands of Education 5.0: Pathways for a Future-Proof, Resilient and Agile Educational Leadership and Management” took place on March 22, 2024, at Tomas Oppus Campus, SLSU. At the forum, students were provided with advanced approaches to meet the flexible demands of Education 5.0 for a wonderful future.

The program pleased participants with transformative experiences that impart more than just academic knowledge related to education management and scientific research at SLSU as well as other education institutions, but an immersive journey cultivating cultural competence and nurturing a global perspective.
