Tra Vinh University welcomed a Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) delegation on April 24 to develop a sustainable agriculture program for the Mekong Delta.
The meeting brought together key KOICA representatives led by Deputy Director Kim Sun Hyung and university officials headed by Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung. This visit marks significant progress in implementing green agricultural solutions for the region, focusing on international cooperation to address climate challenges.
Vice Rector Diep Thanh Tung emphasized the university’s commitment to strengthening cooperation for sustainable development of rice, coconut, and shrimp value chains. The discussion centered on exploring green technologies currently researched at Tra Vinh University, defining cooperation mechanisms and budgets, and proposing support activities for local businesses and cooperatives. The university aims to play an active role in enhancing regional agricultural sustainability.
This collaboration opens promising prospects between Tra Vinh University and KOICA in sustainable agriculture and climate change response. The meeting represents an important step in project development, demonstrating both parties’ commitment to supporting Mekong Delta farmers, enhancing production capacity, and building a sustainable agricultural sector that can withstand the region’s environmental challenges.
