TVU – On October 28, 2023, Tra Vinh University hosted a ceremony to present 33 “Vong tay Thai Binh” scholarships funded by Mrs. Tran Khanh Tuyet, worth a total of 46 million VND, to 23 pupils from the Tra Vinh Laboratory School and 10 students from the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture.
Attending the ceremony are Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of the TVU Advisory Council; Dr. Thach Thi Dan, TVU Vice-Rector; representatives from the Board of Directors of the Laboratory School, the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, the Department of Student Affairs, and the Department of International Collaboration, along with teachers, pupils, and students.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan – Standing Member of the Party Committee and Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, sincerely appreciates Mrs. Tran Khanh Tuyet for her support and companionship in providing numerous special scholarships to students at the university throughout the years. The scholarships have promptly offered financial assistance for students to pay some of their expenditures, purchase school materials, and enhance their academic results.
Ms. Tran Khanh Tuyet has provided 219 scholarships worth more than 395 million VND to 219 disadvantaged Tra Vinh University students for ten years, from 2013 to 2023. Thanks to her noble contribution, a lot of students have been able to overcome challenges in their studies and lives.
On behalf of the scholarship recipients, Tran Thi Mong Khoa, a student of the 2020’s Biotechnology class, says, “I want to send my sincere gratitude and deepest admiration to MSc. Tran Khanh Tuyet. She is now 83 years old, yet that doesn’t stop her from traveling a long distance to personally give us scholarships. With all due respect, I hope she stays healthy and happy. We pledge to do well in our studies to repay our sponsor, who never stops supporting and encouraging us.”
