(TVU) - Since 2016, Tra Vinh University (TVU) has promoted supporting activities in which start-up initiatives and scientific research activities are mainly focal toward creating best opportunities for students after graduation.

Mr. Nguyen Nhat Thanh, TVU Youth Union Secretary said that in recent years TVU has been extending its collaborative networks with businesses in Coop programs and delivered the policy of support to students’ scientific research and start-up initiatives.  


In order to enable students to adapt working environment well after graduation, TVU has offered soft skills training course, established employment center and set funding sources for students’ research.  


Vo Tan Bang, TVU student in law said that they have received the great supports in start-up models such as general department store, photography, stationery, school bus service, coffee shop, Southern cuisine, chemical-free produce shop, etc., which all have been operating well at this university.

(TVU) – On the afternoon of March 5, Tra Vinh University (TVU) held the 2018 Staff Congress, chaired by Associate Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector.




TVU departments reported the results in 2017, and proposed orientation and the mission for 2018 which cover all the university activities such as scientific research, academic affairs, etc.


Delivering speech at the congress, the Rector said: “Tra Vinh University is on the way to the implementation of the pilot project of new mechanism; therefore, all of TVU members should coordinate synchronously in order to bring about the best results.” He hoped that TVU will make their best efforts in management, enrolment, scientific research, production, services, especially creating and maintaining partnerships and enhancing job opportunities for students.

(TVU) – On March 6, Tra Vinh University (TVU) had a meeting with specialists from America in the scope of collaborative discussion in Mechanical Engineering and English language. Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, TVU Vice Chairman of Advisory Council and faculty members of TVU school of Engineering and Technology and school of Foreign Languages attended this meeting.

At the meeting, the experts shared their experiences with the faculty members in their working fields such as the manufacturing of medical equipment and issues in English teaching and learning, and hoped to provide future supports to TVU as well as high schools in Tra Vinh province.   


Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung gave his big thanks to the specialists’ valuable experiences and future supports. He said: "Tra Vinh University is a young institution on its development and highly places the importance on international collaboration in variety of activities including receiving experts’ supports toward increasingly improving teaching quality in future."

(TVU)-On 27 February, TVU Vice Rector Tran Van Trong had a meeting with Mr. Hieu Tom Bui, Director of Vietnam Development and Support in Ottawa – Canada about supporting TVU students’ start-up initiatives.

At the meeting, Mr. Hieu Tom Bui highly evaluated the business ideas of TVU students, especially which are associated with gender equality, and hoped that they will be soon carried out in Tra Vinh province.


Mr. Ly Dinh Quan, project management committee representative of Tra Vinh small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) gave an overview of entrepreneurial issues in Tra Vinh province and stressed a number of necessary elements to the success of the start-up initiative models.  He said: "Starting up a business requires close connection with individuals and international collaboration, as well as flexibility and creativity.” He also informed that SMEs will build a communication network with the aim of improving the entrepreneurship ecosystem of the province.


TVU Vice Rector Tran Van Trong said that TVU always stresses the importance of its students’ start-up activities and offers favourable conditions to them. He thanked the delegation’s working visit and hoped to receive more support in these start-up activities.

(TVU) -   On March 3, TVU held the graduation ceremony to over 700 new graduates in nursing, law, accounting and kindergarten majors. TVU Rector Board representative, faculty members and students attended this important event.

Dr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of TVU Institute for Resource Development said that this is an online and distance training program with the mission of flexibly meeting the need of learners.

On behalf of the new graduates, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Yen expressed happily: “Studying at Tra Vinh University, we acquire beneficially professional knowledge and soft skills that we can apply in life.” She added that with the motto ‘Bringing the best quality learning opportunities to the community’, TVU offers a variety of courses and programs meeting learners’ need.


TVU Vice Rector Vo Hoang Khai congratulated and highly evaluated the efforts of all new graduates in their studies. He hoped that they will be able to apply their knowledge to reality and affirmed that TVU will always welcome them back for their higher education.

(TVU) -  On 26 February, Tra Vinh University (TVU) held the ceremony to mark the 63rd anniversary of Vietnamese Physicians' Day (27 February). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector attended this traditional meeting.

This is a great opportunity for TVU physicians to share their experience in medical treatment as well as for people to express their gratitude for doctors’ utmost to serve patients.


Medical doctor Phan Van Tinh, Deputy Dean of TVU School of Medicine and Pharmacy gave his big thanks to TVU leaders, local authorities, experts and physicians for their special concerns to the medical field of TVU.   


Addressing at the ceremony, TVU Rector said: “Medical profession is honoured as one of the most notable ones in society. In the forthcoming time, TVU General Clinic and School of Medicine and Pharmacy will co-organize more seminars and conferences with the aim of increasing TVU physicians’ knowledge towards ensuring the best quality healthcare for the community.”

(TVU) - Workshop on FIBAA-based Training Program Quality Testing took place in earlier February at Tra Vinh University (TVU) with the participation of TVU Rector Board and representatives of Ho Chi Minh City institutions.




FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) is a Europe-based non-profit organization dedicated to the quality of higher education. Currently, the certificate accredited by FIBAA is recognized worldwide.


In the workshop, Mr. Lars Weber –Head of FIBAA International Cooperation Department gave an introduction about quality criteria. He said that if TVU meets all FIBAA-based standards, FIBAA will offer a five-year certificate of its quality in training programs.  


According to FIBAA experts, the criteria in the quality testing include students’ soft skills, students’ employment, students’ English proficiency, and academic programs and space, etc...


TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan hoped that TVU will be soon considered to be in the list of FIBAA-based quality testing contributing to the improvement of its international standard-based training programs.

(TVU) - Tra Vinh University (TVU) is a public institution which offers different levels including 19 diploma, 47 full-time undergraduate, and 28 graduate programs.




The estimate enrolment target to undergraduate programs is 5,500 and 1,400 to diploma programs in various fields consisting of agri-aquaculture, animal husbandry, engineering and technology, medicine-pharmacy, foreign languages, Southern Khmer language, culture and arts, economics - law, applied chemistry, pedagogy, administration, office administration, tourism and foundation studies.


In order to provide support for disadvantaged students, TVU always facilitates their learning through preferential policies. In addition, during their study, students will have opportunities to take part in co-op program, internship program, and experience international studying environment such as in Israel and Japan.
